Profitable Websites Asks: What Do You want?

We’re going thru some major upgrades and changes at Profitable Websites Blog. So I figured that I’d ask what you wanted from the blog while this is going on.

What topics do you want covered? Traffic, SEO, niche sites, blogs, tutorials, reviews etc

Send an email to support@keystoprofitablewebsites.com

My goal is to provide a website that gives you the right information to make any website profitable by the use of proven SEO/traffic techniques, monetization strategies and whatever else I can come up with. I intend to add what ever the community as a whole requests and render it unnecessary to by a bunch of products designed to give you only one piece of the puzzle.

I’ve bought my share products to get myself started and I realized a couple of things. There are a few foundational techniques that must be mastered before you start buying into the “guru” products. The truth is you really don’t need them to get started. The “make money fast and easy” thing is a joke and plays on our conditioned response for instant gratification. Do the foundational stuff everyone knows, and do it consistently with quality.

  • You really should pick a niche you’re interested in and know something about. In doing this you eliminate most of the problems with content and you stand a much better chance of COMPLETING a site.
  • You need to learn how to write in a way readers and publishers love.
  • Your site isn’t for you; it’s for your visitors.
  • There’s more than one model to make money online. In fact the whole squeeze, sales letter type site isn’t for everyone but the big marketers have tapped into the growing number of people looking to have residual incomes so they are seduced by sales letters.
  • Multiple streams of income…ie multiple sites with multiple monetization strategies.
  • SEO is EASY.
  • You need to have multiple traffic strategies. Marketing and promoting your sites/blog IS you traffic strategy.
  • WORK and TIME is required.

The list goes on and on. You probably won’t find one “product” that tells you these things. Or gives you the foundations needed for a profitable website. Instead it’s sprinkled all over the web. I’m going to try to bring it all the basics together in one place and do it in a way that the blog becomes an info-tool.

Anyway there’s the grand plan. I have a lot of work to do to achieve that goal but first I have to get this house in order. Below is a short list of what I’m working on.

  • Enhance the product package so it’s MUCH more functional…and keep the price low
  • Transfer to a new hosting service.
  • Fix some technical issues with the back end software
  • Restructure the blog to achieve the grand plan to morph the blog into an info-tool using categories and tags.
  • Hire an editor
  • Write some more content
  • Give the blog a face lift

That’s going to keep me busy for a while. I don’t need to do it all before I get back to much more frequent posts.

That’s it for now. I’ll probably only post once a week until I get all this stuff done.

Merry Makowski @ 7:16 am:

Today Jim Edwards in his “I Gotta Tell You” blog was writing about four reasons why people buy anything on line . Following, is my comment I posted there, which I trust could help us with building profitable websites.

“I have been thought that our job as marketers is to help people FILL the VOID or SATISFY their CONFUSION.
For today, all of us suffer from confusion, “People are CONFUSED and DISSATISFIED about a lot of things in their lives and will seek a solution until an answer is found that satisfies them”.
The other side of confusion is the VOID or EMPTINESS that we feel in our lives.
I don’t want to get into a metaphysical discussion here, but the void in people’s lives creates demand for products of all kinds to “fill the void or emptiness. It demands something to FILL IT, this is why “entertainment” is the HIGHEST paid profession in the world.
To be a “consumer” means to literally “eat something” … to “consume.” An analogy could be made that “consumers” EAT (consume) products and services to FILL THE VOID (or emptiness) in their lives and to end their confusion.
So our job as marketers is to FILL the VOID and SATISFY their CONFUSION.
In doing so we are making their life better, richer, happier and of course, we are making our lives richer too”.

Mike, in my opinion your blog is a little too busy; maybe you are providing too many choices for the already confused reader.

I can see that you are an honest and hardworking marketer and after your blog face-lift, I am confident, you will do more than fine.

Happy posting,

Merry Makowski
